Okay, you missed Spring cleaning, but you can still change that dull room you are tired of looking at while keeping costs under control. Not a problem!  With a few fresh ideas and a little elbow grease.

  1. New paint brings life to ceilings and walls. All looks new and clean again, and even with a quality paint, the cost is reasonable.  If you want a smaller scale change, limit painting to one wall and trim or trim and doors.
  2.  Add throw pillows to compliment your new colors.  Make them a contrasting color to add interest or coordinate for a soothing blend.
  3.  Rearranging furniture can give a room a completely new feel.  While at it, move pictures and accents around the walls, as well.
  4. Add a tablecloth to change the appearance of a table, and pizazz up a corner.

What about that old vase you found in the closet while digging out mosquito repellent?  It will look great on that table.

  5.  Take a trip to the thrift shop.  Drop off what you do not need, and perhaps you will find something to add interest to your new decor.
  6.  New curtains or a Roman shade will bring a splash of color and texture to a window that needs a pick me up.
  7. Don’t forget the foliage. Plants can change the whole feel of a room with color, height, and fragrance. Certain floral arrangements will add romance.  Palm fronds declare a tropical note. Fresh flowers always bring beauty and life to a room. Splurge on a bouquet to yourself for a job well done.
