Despite being in one of the worst recessions this country has ever seen, the rich don’t seem to be effected as much as the less fortunate. Case in point: The Manor in Holmby Hills, CA worth an estimated $150 Million. Toted as the “Most Expensive Home in America” this southern California mega mansion is nothing less than spectacular. Quick Facts: It’s the largest home in Los Angeles County, once owned by the late TV/Movie Producer Aaron Spelling and was built in 1991.

So what does $150 Million dollars get you in a home? A parking lot with over 100 spaces. A kitchen that has the capacity to feed 800 people. Gardens, ponds and courtyards make up the outside land. The entertainment amenities, consist of a bowling alley, 50+ seat theater.

The home was listed last year by Aaron Spelling’s widow, who was interested in downsizing her current estate. To this date, there has been now word on whether it sold or not, but it still made the list as the most expensive home in the States. Not to be outdone, a penthouse suite in London, England has just been listed at $220 Million (£140 million). I don’t know if these people understand that we’re in a recession and that the worldwide economy is also experiencing some hiccups. It will be interesting to see if any of these do indeed sell.
