Wall lamps come in many different shapes and sizes. Many of us don’t pay much attention to this particular accessory because it’s more of a decorative accent than a necessity. However, the Guau lamp by Arturo Alvarez, 2010′s Red Dot Product Design winner, makes for a special feel in otherwise bland rooms. The elegantly funky lamp attaches to the wall of your choice, creating a beautiful shadow light effect. The lamp hardly takes up any room and looks to be powered by batter sensors.
This would’ve been the ideal lamp for my dorm room in college. It’s such a great space saver and really illuminates the wall. The price tag is awfully high, a little over a thousand bucks, but definitely better than your run-of-the-mill Target fixture.
One question I had after first seeing this model, was: How would I change the light bulb? It would be nice to know that these lamps run on Ionic lights, but I’m not sure if that is even possible.

If you prefer a minimalist design that saves space and keeps your room bright, I’d definitely recommend the Guau lamp. Whether in your bedroom bathroom or entrance way, it’ll sure add character to your place.
