Need some ideas on how to make your home more beautiful and functional, while spending no money? I know it may seem impossible, but it’s really not. You have items that will solve all the decor issues you may be experiencing today. All you have to do is go shopping in your home!
Free Bedroom Solutions
- Better Homes and Gardens has some extremely creative ideas at times and here is one I couldn’t pass up. Dress up your walls with your jewelry. If you have jewelry that gets tangled up, this would be perfect for you. I know it will for me. Use frames or shadow boxes to group pieces together as artwork. Not only will your walls sparkle, but you’ll be more likely to wear pieces because you see them on a regular basis.
- Hating your headboard can really drag down your room, but if you throw a simple blanket, quilt, curtain or fabric over it, your eye sore will turn into an eye pleaser. If you’re having trouble getting it to stay, tuck the ends under the mattress.

- Raise your curtain rods up high above your actual window frame. This creates the illusion that you have taller ceilings. This is a perfect solution for small homes.
- If you have a lot of books, but no shelves, don’t worry about running out to get them and spending a fortune, just stack them all together next to your couch or chair for a side table with a twist. Everyone is doing this these days, so why not you!
- A blank wall can really give you the Blues, but with all those pictures and picture frames you have lying around you can create picture collages. Just be sure you use frames that go well together and strategically plan your placement so that your creation isn’t a mess.
Free Dining Room Solutions
- If your dining table is too small for a lot of accents, add just a little elegance with a table runner. Use a pretty patterned fabric scrap, retired window treatment panel, or an oversize scarf.
- If you have uncomfortable and boring dining room chairs, try adding colorful pillows to them. They will add comfort and interest for your guests at dinner time. I am definitely going to try this one out.
Free Kitchen Solutions
- I never have enough room in my kitchen for baking or cooking pans and dishes. But if we would just fill our empty kitchen walls with those pots, pans, baking supplies, and utensils. They make great wall art when hung in multiples and they’ll be easy to find when we’re cooking.
