America is a diverse place – not only are it’s citizens of many different creeds and colors, its states, cities and towns each have their own distinctive habitat and culture. While life in Cleveland, Atlanta and Boston may share certain similarities, anyone whose traveled around these United States knows that sometimes it can feel like you’re in a different world, not just a different state, when you go some place new.
Talk to a local, and they’ll tell you that their city is the best one – but CNNMoney has compiled a list, based on factors from commuting times to cost of living to number of single people in town, in order to judge which are the best places to live in America.
Top of the list? Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Why is Eden, a town of just 64,000, number one? Ultra low unemployment (5.1%), top notch schools, safe streets and tons of gorgeous park land that lets residents take advantage of the 17 lakes in the area and keep them some of the healthiest people in the nation.
Good schools and serene vista’s not your idea of the good life? The CNN list breaks down different cities by different criteria. You can find the cities with the most single people (Newport Beach, CA, takes #1 on that score), the youngest cities (Jacksonville, NC, where the median age is 22), or most reasonable home prices (Deerfield Beach, Fl) and many more criteria.
