It’s no secret to my family and friends that I love candles.  I mean, I really love them.  The scents, the light and the calming atmosphere they exude just make me happy.  But I do like them also for decor and sometimes candles in a clear jar with a label don’t exactly make for the nicest look.  But if you use pretty colorful votives, you can get that light and color without the cheapy label.

I recently received a set of four votives from the rustic glass collection of Inspired Living that are simply pretty.  At first when I saw them I thought, “these are votives? They are so large!”  But what’s perfect about them is their coloring: it’s subtle and sheer.  I also love the design because they almost look like hand made pots.  But they are made from 100% recycled glass (which I know all you eco-friendly folks out there will be crazy over).  Once it turned dark, I placed some small tea light candles inside and lit them up!  Because the votives are taller than the tea lights, once they were lit, all I could see is the flame pouring light out through the colors.  The orange really puts out a lot of orange.  And the green is subtle enough to give you just a nice, simple green fade.  And I truly adore the brown votive because it has a much darker coloring than the rest which gives a bit of light without being to bright; perfect for a romantic evening.  The clear is just that: clear.  But t does have  bit of tan coloring to it which makes it not too stark.   As a little tidbit of info., if you need to wash them for some reason, all the glass in the rustic glass collection is dishwasher and microwave safe.
