My Journey With the Hanging Plant: Part IV

This has been an interesting week in the life of my Hanging Plant.  I really don’t have much to tell you all because not very much has happened.  In my last post, I had some really exciting news.  A gigantic Cucumber grew while I was on a family trip in Colorado!  I was so excited to see it when I came home and have actually already eaten it.  I must say it was delicious.  But I don’t have any other cucumbers that I can pick, so I am forced to purchase cucumbers at the store until my plant grows some more.

Here’s the rub:  When I cam home last week, I had this gorgeous cucumber, but I also had a few little guys that had been trying to grow.  Unfortunately they had all died.  Because I have read and researched potted plants – for I have a pretty black thumb – I know that I am suppose to trim away any dead parts of the plant so that it has the opportunity to grow back a flourish.  So, that is what I did.  However, nothing has grown or even started to sprout this past week.  The only thing I have noticed is that the leaves are getting larger and the plant is growing taller.  It is upside down, but I don’t know any other way to describe it.  I know this may sound strange, but I will be out of town again for another week and hope that either my plant sprouts more cucumbers or simply does not die.  It has been so hot in southern cali the last few days and I know next week will not be any better.

Please keep those fingers crossed for my little baby and let’s hope I come home to a nice surprise by next week!
