This week’s featured artist is Roz, or ‘RozArt’ as she’s known on Etsy, for her varied and fun fine art creations. Roz has been a professional full-time artist for more than 20 years and describes her style as ‘whimsical fine art.’ She says her paintings are done “loose and fast, with plenty of thick paint” and grooves to indicate movement. Roz certainly comes across as being full of personality. Her personal website domain is www.drunkencows.com and the catchphrase is “Pepperoni is to pizza what insanity is to art.” Sounds like she’d be a fun person to talk to.

As usual it was difficult to choose just one painting to feature here but I ultimately went with this simple but vibrant one titled “Leap4.” In the photo it’s easy to see some of the texture and movement that helps define Roz’s style and although the composition incites some excitement because the ground isn’t visible it’s also very dreamy, as if it’s moving in slow motion and not scary at all. I love it. Originally done in oil this version is a 16″ x 20″ print for $45.
