Do you ever get hot in the summer?  Me too!  Does your home have an air conditioner?  Is it a wall unit or central air?  Or do you just have fans all around?  My home has one wall unit air conditioner that pushes air out to only about 2 feet from it.  It’s a terrible air conditioner, so I keep fans in every room.  But let me tell you that when I enter a home with central air, I sincerely appreciate it.

I hope you do too because with the summer is usually extremely hot in most places around the world.  I live in Southern California where the heat can come and go based on how close to the beach you live.  But even that doesn’t matter at times.  So, having an air conditioner in your home is almost a necessity.  Why?  Well, because there are far too many heat-related deaths that occur.  A study done in the U.S. from 1999-2003 states that 3,442 deaths resulting from exposure to extreme heat were reported.   I wonder how many more deaths there would be without it.  That just seems scary to me.

5. It makes indoor malls possible.
6. You don’t have to make your window look like Jiffy Pop by using tin foil to reflect the sun.
7. If there is a midnight strangler on the loose, you can sleep with your windows shut in comfort – and peace of mind.
8. You don’t have to see your father sitting in the living room in his boxers.
9. You won’t have bugs in the house because of open windows and doors.
